Who Can Apply for UP TGT Assistant Teacher Recruitment
Candidates applying for the Assistant Teacher (TGT) posts should possess a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject (or a postgraduate degree in the subject), along with a B.Ed. or equivalent recognized teacher-training qualification. In addition, the candidate must have passed the Upper Primary (Classes 6–8) Teacher Eligibility Test, that is UPTET or CTET Paper-II.

Age Limit

Selected Assistant Teachers will be appointed in Pay Level 7 with a pay scale of ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400, along with the allowances applicable to teachers of aided secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh.
Selection Process
The selection process for UP TGT Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 consists of the following stages:
1. Written Examination
There will be a single written examination of 360 marks for all candidates. The written examination is scheduled to be held on 23 and 24 December 2026. There is no interview in this recruitment.
2. Merit and Document Verification
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the written examination. Shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification before final appointment.
Application Fee
The application fee for General, OBC, EWS and other category candidates is ₹1,000. For SC and ST candidates the fee is ₹500, and for PwD (Divyangjan) candidates the fee is ₹300.
