Who Can Apply for RRC NWR Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Candidates must have passed Class 10 or matriculation (10+2 system) from a recognised Board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. There is no rounding off, so 49.9% does not meet the requirement.

Candidates must also hold a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade, issued by NCVT or SCVT. Both qualifications must be held on the date of application.

Candidates who are still awaiting their final results need not apply. PwBD and Ex-Servicemen seats are included in the unit totals and are not extra seats.

Age Limit

Candidates must have completed 15 years of age and must not have completed 24 years as on 22 November 2026. The age is counted as on the last date of application.

Upper age relaxation is available for reserved categories. SC and ST candidates get 5 years of relaxation, OBC candidates get 3 years, and PwBD candidates get 10 years.

Ex-servicemen get relaxation of up to 10 years, equal to their length of defence service plus 3 years. A minimum of 6 months of service at a stretch is required.

Ex-servicemen who have already joined a civil government job using ex-servicemen status are excluded from this relaxation.

RRC NWR Act Apprentice Salary

The notification does not state any stipend amount. It says only that the training period and stipend will be as per the extant rules and directives issued by the Railway Board from time to time.

No stipend figure should therefore be assumed from this article. Candidates should check the official notification and the RRC Jaipur website for any update on the stipend.

No hostel accommodation is provided during the training. Candidates must arrange their own stay, and no TA/DA is paid for document verification.

Completing the apprenticeship training does not confer any right to railway employment afterwards. Apprentices are engaged only for training under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Selection Process

Selection is made on a merit list only. There is no written examination and no interview in this recruitment.

The merit score is the simple average of the Class 10 percentage (all subjects) and the ITI percentage in the trade. The percentage is taken from the provisional or final certificate.

The merit list is prepared separately for each Division or Unit, trade and community, equal to the number of slots. There is no centralised merit list.

In case of a tie, the older candidate is placed first. If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed matriculation earlier is placed first.

Step 1: Online Application

Candidates must submit the application online only at www.rrcjaipur.in within the prescribed dates and pay the fee, if applicable.

Step 2: Merit List

RRC Jaipur prepares a merit list for each Division or Unit, trade and community, based on the average of Class 10 and ITI percentages. Shortlisted candidates are called for the next stages.

Step 3: Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates must appear for document verification at the Division or Unit they opted for. Original testimonials and the medical certificate in the Annexure-IV format must be produced.

Step 4: Medical Examination

Candidates who clear document verification undergo a medical examination. Only candidates found medically fit are finally engaged as apprentices.

Candidates should keep the following documents and details ready before applying and for document verification:
