Selection Process
Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) with multiple-choice questions, followed by an interview or skill test, document verification and a medical test.
Step 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
All candidates appear for a CBT of multiple-choice questions with no negative marking. Candidates are shortlisted for the next stage on CBT marks — UR/EWS candidates need at least 60% and SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates at least 54%.
Step 2: Interview (Principal and Vice-Principal only)
Shortlisted Principal and Vice-Principal candidates appear for an interview. Final merit is based on a 50:50 weightage of CBT and interview marks, and candidates must score at least 60% (UR) or 54% (reserved categories) in each of the CBT and the interview separately.
Step 3: Skill Test (all other posts)
Shortlisted candidates for PGT, TGT, Librarian, PRT, PRT (Music) and Balvatika Teacher appear for a skill test — a chalk-and-board teaching demonstration on a subject topic. It is qualifying in nature (“Go” or “No-Go”); a “No-Go” candidate is not empanelled, regardless of CBT score.
Step 4: Document Verification and Medical Test
Qualifying candidates are called for document verification, followed by a medical test. Final merit for all posts other than Principal and Vice-Principal is prepared on CBT marks among candidates awarded “Go” in the skill test.
A wait list equal to the number of vacancies is prepared and remains valid for 1 year. There is no re-evaluation of the CBT.
