Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has invited online applications for the post of Probationary Engineer in E-II Grade. A total of 350 vacancies are available under Advertisement No. 17556/HR/All-India/2026, dated 28 October 2026.
The vacancies are in two engineering disciplines only. There are 200 posts in Electronics and 150 posts in Mechanical, including backlog vacancies.
Eligible engineering graduates can apply online from 28 October 2026 (2:00 PM) to 18 November 2026 (11:59 PM). Applications must be submitted only through the official BEL website.

BEL Probationary Engineer Vacancy 2026
The discipline-wise and category-wise vacancy distribution, including backlog vacancies, is given below. Out of the total, 45 vacancies are for PwBD candidates, with 27 in Electronics and 18 in Mechanical.

Candidates can apply for only one discipline. The discipline must match the qualifying engineering degree of the candidate.
Who Can Apply for BEL Probationary Engineer Recruitment 2026
For the Electronics post, candidates must have B.E., B.Tech. or B.Sc. (4 years) Engineering in Electronics, Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Telecommunication, Communication or Telecommunication. The degree must be from an AICTE-approved college.
For the Mechanical post, candidates must have B.E., B.Tech. or B.Sc. (4 years) Engineering in Mechanical. Candidates must be Indian nationals.
UR, OBC (NCL) and EWS candidates must have First Class in the qualifying degree. SC, ST and PwBD candidates with Pass Class are also eligible.
Candidates with First Class in AMIE, AMIETE or GIETE in the specified disciplines are also eligible. Other equivalent disciplines and dual specialisations will not be considered.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit is 25 years for UR and EWS candidates as on 1 October 2026. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as given below.

BEL Probationary Engineer Salary
The post is in E-II Grade with a pay scale of Rs. 40,000 – 3% – Rs. 1,40,000. The approximate cost to company (CTC) is about Rs. 13 lakh per annum.
In addition to basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to DA, HRA, conveyance allowance, performance-related pay, medical reimbursement and other perquisites as admissible. The pay scale is due for revision with effect from 1 January 2027, as stated in the advertisement.
Selection Process
Selection will be through a Computer Based Test followed by an interview. The CBT carries 85 marks weightage in the final selection, and the interview carries 15 marks weightage.
Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
The CBT is tentatively scheduled for 22 December 2026. It will have 125 objective-type questions for 125 marks, to be completed in 120 minutes.

Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and 0.25 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. The question paper will be bilingual, in English and Hindi.
Based on performance in the CBT, candidates will be provisionally shortlisted for the interview in the ratio of 1:5, discipline-wise and category-wise. Call letters will not be sent by email or post, and candidates must download them from the BEL website.
Stage 2: Interview
Shortlisted candidates will appear for a personal interview carrying 15 marks weightage. The final merit will be prepared by combining the CBT weightage of 85 marks and the interview weightage of 15 marks.
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifying marks prescribed in the advertisement in the CBT and the interview separately. Original documents will be verified at the interview stage.
